Two wrong tastes that go great together

Have you bought your Waiting for Bob T-shirt yet? If not, maybe you'd like to get one for free. Welcome to the first ever Waiting for Bob contest.

First, some background: Doug was working on a note about the weird results that search engines can cough up if you give them strange search terms. Just for the hell of it, he ran a search for turnips gasoline at Google, and sure enough, the first result was totally unexpected and yet totally appropriate. (Try it yourself and see if you agree.) But then he got bored, so played some Freecell instead. Nonetheless, it's a good concept.

So here's the contest: we will send a T-shirt to the person who provides the pair of words that gives the best unexpected yet appropriate site as the first item returned from a Google search. If we can't decide based on merit, the winner will be the search that produces the most results.

If you think you've got what it takes, mail your pair of words and preferred T-shirt size to contest@waitingforbob.com. We'll decide on a winner and mail the shirt sometime around the 14th or 15th, just in time for it to get lost in the Christmas rush.

Three new comics a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (Currently on pause.) Waiting for Bob is copyright © 1999-2002 Doug Sheppard and Katrin Luessenheide Salyers. You may read our privacy policy.
